Your Car Knows More Than You Think

Everything in the Age of Information has to do with data. Your cellphones collect it, the things you watch, listen to, or consume are tracked, your location is monitored and even the words you say are stored and used to try and target you with advertisements or product offers that marketers think are the most likely to convert to actual sales. While some people are concerned with the information that they are constantly handing over to these companies, most people are not overly perturbed, and many even do so enthusiastically, believing that this will lead to better user experiences down the line. Regardless of what your stance is, it's important to at least understand how your data is collected, by what devices, and what is done with it.

Even cars these days are collecting data on their drivers and passengers. The infotainment systems in modern vehicles are incredibly useful and have many really, really beneficial features-- but at what cost?
