Instagram Retail, Microsoft Teams Compliance, and More! What’s New in Tech

Tech is a fast paced world, and oftentimes it's difficult to keep track of all the changes that come flying our way on a week-to-week basis. Thankfully, Forbes does a great job at keeping track of technology news that are relevant to businesses, and we're here to pass that information along to you!

For those not interested in reading directly from the source, here is a short summary of the article:

  1. Some older models of Apple products such as the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini are upgrade-able at a discounted price. The total price is still par for the course as far as Apple goes, but still potentially good savings!
  2. A new feature is being tested on Instagram that will allow users to purchase products from large brands (at least for now) directly from the Instagram app. While this may not sound like much now, it could very well be adapted for SMBs to begin selling their products on the platform!
  3. Microsoft Teams is receiving some general updates, as well as some security and compliance features including private channels and information barriers to enhance the use-case for businesses.
  4. The Inbox by Gmail App is now End-Of-Life and will be shut down on April 2nd. Switch to their main Gmail app!
  5. An app that's used to book doctor's appointments is now worth $1.1 billion.
